Cala Murada The Beaches Cala Murada belongs to the coastal area of Manacor where there are many beautiful beaches spread out over 6 miles of natural landscape. The main beach is called "Cala Murada" from where you can take a very pleasant coastal path to the shallow waters of Cala Domingos and Cala Domingos Petit. The beaches have been awarded the European Blue Flag status for their water quality. The beaches are well maintained and the water is usually crystal clear. During the peak season of April to October, there are lifeguards present, water-sports available on most beaches, and beach bars serving 'tapas' and other reasonably priced drinks and snacks. The Surrounding Area Cala D'or is extremely busy during peak season with a wide range of trendy shops, and a huge choice of restaurants serving all different types of cuisine. Porto Colom is a pretty town with it's original natural harbour - which is the biggest natural harbour on the island of Mallorca. Porto Colom also offers a wide choice of restaurants - but some of these can be quite expensive. Porto Cristo is not only well known for its port, but also for its caves, known as the "Caves of Drach" (which translates to 'The Caves of the Dragon'). A visit to the Caves of Drach is definitely recommended for any visitor to Mallorca.
